FREquently asked questions

about birthday party shows

How much space do you need?

Not much at all. For my equipment and props I need about a 4′ by 6′ area. Usually, your living room is a perfect place for this! Other than that, an area right in front of my performing area for the children to sit and enjoy the show is all that is needed.

Do you need to provide a table?

No, I bring everything I need include my own sound system.

Can we hire your to entertain our children in one room while all of the adults hang out in another room?

Due to liability issues, I do require that all of the children be supervised at all times by at least one responsible adult (besides me). I simply can’t be held responsible for supervising them. This is to protect you, the children and myself.

Can you perform the show outdoors?

No, I DO NOT perform birthday parties outdoors for a variety of reasons. Plus, if the wind is blowing, that can be too much as some of my props are very light and could be damaged. It is always safer to have it indoors and there will be far less distractions.

Can we serve the kids food, snacks, and beverages during the show?

The short answer, it’s your home so you can do whatever you’d like…
However, I do recommend serving treats & drinks before or after the show. It’s a HUGE distraction for the kids. Not only eating the snack but then the serving of it and cleaning up that takes place. At this age, they need the least amount of distractions as possible. So I HIGHLY recommend NOT serving goodies during the performance (also because it’s a show based on audience interaction and participation… I need their hands to be free…besides, it could turn messy).

How much do you cost?

I offer two different entertainment packages for children’s birthday parties. For complete details, including pricing, simply navigate back to the birthday party show page and fill out the “QUICK INFO REQUEST” form.

Is the show clean and age appropriate?

Yes! I take pride in that my show is specifically geared towards children 4-10. Most magicians don’t have an age specific show. I specialize in entertaining children with clean and fun magic. In addition, I nearly always have the parents telling me they had more fun than the children.

When’s a good time to have you begin your show?

A good general rule of thumb is to have the show begin about a half hour after the party begins. This prevents distractions from late arriving guests. The show itself generally runs about 45 minutes. When the show concludes, I will direct the children to the area where they can sing to the birthday child and have cake, ice cream, etc. I will then retreat to clear my area and pack up. If you have selected the balloon package, I will begin making balloons at this time.

I’m celebrating more than one child’s birthday, can you still entertain at our party?

Yes! I then have all of the birthday children be the stars of the show in some way. Everything else is the same except we have a few more lucky participants!

Can we invite young infants and babies to the party?

Since it’s your party, you may do whatever you’d like. However, I do recommend NOT having children under the age of 2 present, only because they often are a distraction to the children and adults who are trying to enjoy the magic show.

What about the family pet(s)?

While I do love animals, pets will need to be secured in another location of the home.
